The 2012 vintage from Veuve Clicquot stands out as a strong year despite climatic challenges. The house selected only grapes from Grand and Premier Cru vineyards, reinforcing the quality and distinctiveness of the cuvée.

Blend & Vinification

  • Pinot Noir: 51% — Provides the signature strength and structure.

  • Chardonnay: 34% — Adds elegance and finesse.

  • Pinot Meunier: 15% — Rounds out the blend with freshness.

  • 11% of the wines were aged in large oak casks (foudres), lending subtle woody, vanilla and toasted aroma layers.

  • Dosage: 8 g/L (Brut style)

  • Serving temperature recommended: 10‑12 °C.

  • Ageing potential: Up to 25 years under good cellaring conditions.

Tasting Profile

  • Appearance: Bright yellow gold with refined gold highlights.

  • Nose: Aromas of roasted pears, candied citrus, green hazelnuts, almonds and gentle oak/vanilla spice from foudre‑aged component.

  • Palate: Fresh, direct attack; then fruits (mirabelle tart, roasted pear), followed by green hazelnut and almond notes; structured yet refined.
